What's the difference between church and any self-help club? One might think they're pretty similar: both teach lifestyle choices, both provide a life-giving community, and they both generally have sub-par coffee. Sound the same? Perhaps, but a closer look into the Christian Church reveals a supernatural life force that fuels our faith and empowers us to be the church God intended us to be. In part two of our "Heart 4 The House" series, guest speaker Pastor Keith Eberhard points to the "Spirit of the House" as God's agent of change and transformation in our lives, our community, and across the world.

If we're honest, many of us view God as being inaccessible to the average person. We often believe that the pastor or priest is the only one who has special access to God and thus carries the responsibility of sharing with the masses what God commands His people to do. But the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross created a new reality for the church today. Guest speaker, Sarah Marriot, shares with us the newfound access we all have as "priests" in the Christian faith and the abundance and purpose within that role.

For most of us, summer is a wonderful season: nice weather, time off work, and long-awaited vacation trips. But we all know that summer doesn't last forever. To try and pretend that we're still in summer when it's actually winter, spring, or fall, would be to have a distorted perspective on reality. How do we honour God with our lives? We've all heard or been taught that we should honour our mother and father, honour our elders, or honour our bosses - and we might have an idea for what that looks like. But is it possible that honouring God requires a step of faith: showing honour even amidst adversity, struggle, or disappointment?

Jesus came so that we could experience life to the full (John 10:10), but all too often our life experiences don't feel very fulfilling. What was Jesus talking about? Was He spouting off wishful thinking? Are His words irrelevant for our day in age? Or is it possible that the way we see our lives differs from how He sees them?
